Overview

You can enable a Portal to perform conceptual search by enabling the Synonym Engine to include Article results that contain words conceptually similar to the search term's synonyms, or the search terms in the search query specified by the Portal user.

For example, "cat" and "feline" are conceptually the same; you can enter them both as part of the same synonym engine entry. Other examples are LCD, Liquid Crystal Display, Monitor, Screen, Display or UN, United Nations

Configuring Synonym Search

1. Login to Portal Administration.
2. Click Edit in the selected portal's row in the Available Portals  table.
3. Click Configuration.
4. Scroll to the lines:
   <Search>
   <synonyms>
5. Make changes to the Widget as described in the table.
6. Click Save.
